FREE. New single Cellar Door online (one month for free)
April 14th 2010. It has taken us a bit longer than expected, but it was worth the wait. After a period in which studio work disappeared to the background for a while so we could work on new materia, the gorgeous pallet of Chemisphere's new single Cellar Door has been recorded successfully. Inspired by the Donnie Darko movie, in which Mrs. Barrymore teaches her class that Cellar Door is the most beautiful word in the English language, the rich instrumentals en composition do justice to this finding. Ominous, mysterious and comforting at the same time, this may be the best thing Chemisphere has delivered so far. The expectations are high for the remaining songs of the CD 'Jack Frost & The Queen of Hearts'. The tone has been set.
You can download this great new single one month for free, until May 15th.

New single, Prismatised.
April 14th 2010. Black, white and rainbows.
Chemisphere's new single 'Prismatised' is a small and honest love song, created with only an acoustic guitar and vocals. Once written for a special couple, the words say it all. Moving from youth and puppy love towards a profound feeling of coming home. Not wanting to change one another, but to truly understand and to love. Both the sun and rain, a tear and a smile.

Design New Wave ++
April 2010. Every now and then Bass gets creative. Not with notes and sounds, but with pixels and special effects. The result: a new design for the Chemisphere website. We hope you like it. Let us know by signing our guestbook!
New webshop!
March 2010. A new webshop has been added to the Chemisphere website. You will now be able to download songs or CD's in all popular formats for only 79 euro cents per track. Of course artwork and lyrics are included. In the near future merchandise will also be added.
For payments we have chosen Bandcamp, a renowned service for independent musicians, to safely handle your financial support by credit card, pay pall or other common methods.
And the new title is...
December 2009. There has been a lot of secrecy surrounding the new Chemisphere CD. Which songs made the ranks and what is going to be the title of this new masterpiece? If we told you everything, we'd have to kill you but keep your eyes and ears open for an album called 'Jack Frost and the Queen of Hearts'. A treat guaranteed!
Brand New Single: Two Parts Of Me
Nov 15th 2008. Ladies and gentlemen....We proudly present: Our new single!! Two Parts Of Me. This is the first new song from our new album which will be released in February 2009. The name of the new CD remains a secret.
Check out the brand new video:
November 2008. Music magazine Fret published an interview with us. Check out the november issue of Fret on page five. Or read it bij clicking here.
Studio Time
Oktober 2008. The first recording day of our new CD went very well. We recorded four new songs at the Basement Studio in The Hague, with some great help from Ernst. We started the day with our new single Two Parts Of Me, which will be released on November 15th. The video to this new single will also be released on this magical day. After recording this song, we continued with House to Home, Black Pearls and Falling to the Sun.
The second recording session took place in October. On this day we recorded Point of no Return, Cellar Door, Analysis and Controversial Clarity. The third and final day of recording will take place in January. Will Prismatised make our new CD or not? What to do with our newest songs, such as Gone Against the wind and Hail Hail? Decisions, decisions...
We decided to play the instruments all at the same time for this recording, which keeps the vibe going so much better. Some minor fine-tuning was done after recording the instruments. The vocal tracks were recorded separately.
The new name of cd? We will keep that a secret. To be released in the beginning of 2009!
New Single Release 15th of November!!
Oktober 2008. Recently we recorded one of our favorites; Two Parts Of Me. Because we don't want te keep you waiting for the new CD we will release Two Parts Of Me on november the 15th. It will be released through this very website, the Hyves and Myspace so keep an eye on these sites. The song will also be sent to several radio stations and the video to this new single will also be released.
Video!
Oktober 2008. Lijn, Trudi and Garmt have sure been working that camera this past Summer. We travelled to our favorite Leperkoen forest on one of the hottest days of the year, and we shot our video footage surrounded by a lot of sand and trees. We were stared at a lot by passengers. It is not an every day sight seeing a drum-kit, guitars, keyboards in this sandpit.
Garmt and Trudi shot more footage at our gig at Parkpop. Trudi was filming from the audience, whilst Garmt could be found all over the stage with his camera.
The video will be released on November 15th. Our thanks goes to Lijn, who has edited our video, and to Garmt and Trudi
On stage!
Oktober 2008. We have played quite a few gigs lately. We enjoyed them all, especially the performance and vibes at Torenpop in Amersfoort and at De Paap in The Hague. Great atmosphere and an enthusiastic crowd. Our gigs at Parkpop, Patronaat and Luxor Live also went very well.
And there are more gigs! We will soon be playing in De Bosuil (Weert), Tivoli (Utrecht), at the Noorderslag festival (Groningen) and in 013 (Tilburg). We would love to see you at one of our upcoming concerts. You can check all our tour dates on this website.
Chemisphere in the Media
Oktober 2008. There have been several interviews lately. Chemisphere has been interviewed by Den Haag FM, 3voor12 and by Stadsblad Schiedam. An article about us appeared in the last Fret magazine.
All interviews will soon be published on our Chemisphere website. See you there!
Another great CD review, Fret magazine
July. Music magazine Fret wrote a great review about Raining Daisies! Check it bij clicking Here
Parkpop is coming up soon (Sunday, June 29)
June 2008. Unbelievable, only a few more weeks and we will be opening the Parkpop festival, which is the largest free outdoor festival in Europe. We will do our thing at 1 PM on Saturday June 29th. Please do come and see us play our biggest concert so far. We have decided to change the set list for this special performance and have included our old hit Controversial Clarity. We want to see everyone at Parkpop swaying to our tunes! Some of the other acts performing at Parkpop 2008 are Kula Shaker, Sheryl Crow and the Proclaimers. And do not worry, the festival will be finished in time for the European Cup final!
More information about the festival can be found here.
Torenpop (Saturday, June 28)
June 2008. The day before we amaze the Parkpop crowd, we will be on the Torenpop stage in Amersfoort. This seems like a really good festival too, the line-up is quite impressive. Who would have guessed that Chemisphere would one day be on the same stage as Claw Boys Claw?
More information about the festival can be found here.
Fries Street Festival (Saturday, May 31)
June 2008. We played at the Fries Straat Festival in Friesland on May 31st. This was our first act in Friesland, which is in the north of the Netherlands. We played a wonderful set and the audience seemed very keen. We also sold our CD to new fans! After the gig we stayed around to see some of the other bands.
On the Ether
June 2008. Chemisphere is getting more airplay than ever before. We are currently played on several radio stations, such as KX Radio and Den Haag FM.
Hours and Call My Name seem to be the favourite DJ tunes.
Official Band Pictures
May 2008. We had a fun photo shoot in May, which was sponsored by Dommelsch (yes, the beer brand). The photo session took place in a studio in Amsterdam at around midnight, how rock and roll is that? Check out the result of this photo session. Please be warned; we look very serious indeed. And it was not really raining in the studio!
You can find the pictures on page 24 of the LIVEXS magazine, click here.
New CD review! Haagspoppodium.nl
May 2008, The website Haagspoppodium.nl wrote an optimistic review of our latest CD:
May 2008. Well, our Live XS tour has begun. We played the first gig of this tour at Dauwpop (check out the pictures). Ruud was actually supposed to be on holiday in France, but as a true artist he flew back to the Netherlands just for this special gig. That is what we call true rock & roll!
This was our first performance in the east of the country. The Live XS tour will take us to many new places. The ambiance at the Dauwpop festival was superb. The sun even started to shine when we played our new song Falling To The Sun! Whilst changing into her gig-outfit, Joanna managed to pick up some of Madrugada's show, which we unfortunately had to miss as we were up next.
Dauwpop was yet another thrilling experience for the band!
You can listen to our our gig and the interview with Joanna here!
Thanks to Dauwpop we can show you the following two pictures. These are from their website.
Our first videoclip
May 2008. Our good friend Lijn Seijsner and her friend Trudy very kindly offered to record the first Chemisphere video. They are both qualified and very creative individuals. So we all went to Lunteren, to the so-called Blommers Music Mansion. It was scorchingly hot that particular day in May. And we were all dressed in black...
For four hours we strutted our stuff and danced and sang out in the blazing sun. Lijn was actually 6 months pregnant at the time. Have a look at the pictures of this great day.
The video of Two Parts of Me will be released at the end of the summer. The girls will shoot some more footage during the Parkpop gig and this will be interwoven into the Lunteren material.
MTV, here we come!
Chemisphere On The Web

Chemisphere, your votes please!
March 2008. The moment has finally arrived: the Local Heroes voting season has begun. As you may know, Chemisphere was chosen as a very promising Local Hero by LIVEXS magazine last year. Consequently, we were asked to perform at both Paradiso and Het Paard. This time we have a chance to actually go on tour. Of the 28 bands that participated in the contest, 6 bands will tour the Netherlands for a year. And the stages awaiting the winners aren't just any stages... The lucky Heroes will visit Dauwpop, entertain the Parkpop visitors and play at various renowned venues in The Netherlands!
Do you think Chemisphere is a great band, do you like one or more members, or in case you just don't have anything better to do, then please seize this opportunity and vote for Chemisphere!
Voting is easy and takes place as follows:
1 Surf to www.livexs.nl. and register.
Don't worry: there are no long tedious forms. You are merely asked for a name, a password and an email address. The email address is only asked in order to make sure that one person can only vote once.
2 Check your inbox and activate your account by clicking the link.
3 Log on to www.livexs.nl. 4 Choose Chemisphere from the list.
5 Click on "Stem".
6 Send this email to all your friends, family and acquaintances.
When more than one person uses the same computer, or more computers that are set up behind the same firewall, then the website of LiveXS will probably only count one vote. The IP address has been connected to the first vote. Of course you could try to vote from a different location, but you can also send us an email to info@chemisphere.nl. We'll make sure that you get the required amount of voting slips in your mailbox.
It is also possible to vote with a special card that is attached to a special guide; the Dommelsch Locals Only! Guide 2008. Get it at a venue near you or read the online version of the guide here! Check if Chemisphere is in the lead here!
Thanks a million for your support and we hope to see you soon at a gig near you!
LiveXS April Issue
March 2008. LIVEXS wrote an amazing review of our latest cd 'Raining Daisies':
"De voorloper van deze cd [de EP Rosecut] werd Chemisphere vorig jaar al verkozen tot Local Hero. De vier tracks van die EP zijn ook terug te vinden op deze plaat, waarvan 'Icebreaker' en zeker 'Call My Name' nog steeds van internationale klasse zijn. Dat niveau wordt niet overal gehaald. Rechttoe, reachtaan-rocker Come To Me is niet bijster sterk, maar daar staat veel moois tegenover. Zo is er het prachtige epische 'Julie' en het fraai melancholische en vooral erg meesleepende 'Memory Hunting'. Afsluiter 'Barricade' begint droefgeestig, maar bouwt daarna indrukwekkend op, waarbij vooral de prachtige samenzang tussen zangeres Joanna en gitarist Liam indruk maakt. Met 'Raining Daisies' op zak mag Chemisphere wat mij betreft heel groot worden. Minpunten: Niets noemenswaardigs. Pluspunten: Ideaal voor donkere dagen (WR)."

Interview Den Haag FM
November 2007. Impressed by Martijn's performance in the Fabchannel interview, Gerard van den Ijssel from Den Haag FM just had to call him to the studio too. Bass joined him, as both of them live in the Hague, and together they stole the show and made sense all at the same time. Again the interview proved that it is impossible to grasp the Chemisphere musical style in just one word. They came up with a desciption in loads of words instead. Curious?
Listen to the interview Here.
Gig in Het Paard yet another succes
October 2007. The gig in Het Paard in The Hague was a great succes. Not only did we receive more one encore, there was stage diving going on as well, and the crowd danced the night away. Some video footage has been shot, which is presently still under embargo. If found suitable for publishing, we will make it available for you here.
Paradiso gig on Fabchannel
October 2007. The gig in Paradiso went well. Prior to the gig Chemisphere was interviewed in front of the camera, where Martijn made some Nostradamus-like predictions about the role of CD's in the future. Although the gig started at 1:30 am and only the die hard fans had travelled all the way to Amsterdam to experience a unique concert, their excitement made it all very worthwhile. The fans that missed this concert are lucky this time...they can still have a little taste of unmatched Chemisphere virtuoses.
Watch the Paradiso gig Here. Watch the Paradiso interview by going here and search for INTERVIEWS - LOCALS ONLY SEPTEMBER.
Interview on KX-radio
September 2007. The phone rings and all of a sudden Chemisphere is on air. Willem Roose and Anton Slotboom interview Liam. Difficult questions are asked. Even though Willem writes in his review for Live XS that it is impossible to place Chemisphere within one genre, they try anyway. Call My Name is compared with a duet by Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave and is then sent into the ether for the whole world to enjoy.
Listen to the interview Here.
CD Review
August 2007. As written below, we have been chosen as LiveXS Local Heroes. LiveXS also wrote a very positive
review:
Willem Roose"
Chemisphere chosen as LIVEXS Local Hero!
July 2007. The magazine LIVEXS has chosen Chemisphere as LiveXS/Dommelsch local hero for the month september. This means we will play @ Paradiso Amsterdam and Paard in Den Haag!! Read all about it by clicking on the picture below.
CD Review
Feb 2007. We recently sent a copy of our demo to www.haagspoppodium.nl and received a very positive
review:

New Demo Coming Soon (2)
Our new demo (October 2005) and CD (December 2005) will be released and then we will take off…. Watch out everone, for here we come!
New Recorded Material (1)
We recently recorded part of our rehearsal and it sounded pretty good, especially considering that we used oldfashioned equipment for the recording. Listen to these recordings via this site and let us know what you think.
New Demo Coming (1)
We haven’t been on stage the last few months, our aim is to record a demo with our latest songs (some of which are utterly amazing, others are just simply brilliant). Our latest songs are once again quite different to our older material. You can really hear the growth in our music (which is perhaps a good thing because it may get a bit stale if it wouldn’t evolve at all).
New Site
Please check our website every once in a while and do leave us a message if you want. Hope you have a nice stroll in the world of Chemisphere and see you around!

Did You Know... we have our own rehearsal room, with many thanks to the Duijvelaar family.
